MAKE MONEY ONLINE – Contextual Advertising

Google Adsense has been introduced as the most common, famous and pioneer method used in making money online. This is a good example of contextual advertising. However, the whole blog industry won’t let Google Adsense to monopolize and dominate the whole blog-thingy. There are other income sources, basically under the umbrella of contextual advertising, exist and other nouveau backer trying to pursue blogging. For the same reason, an opportunity to earning online become more ad nauseam. Add other contextual ads available and take advantage that they subsist.

Contextual ads, as mentioned, are ads enthusiastically displayed on your websites that are relevant to the contents in which the ads are served. Con Ads Companies, mostly pay the website or blog owner on a pay-per-click basis while others also offers the CPM.

Here's the most popular Contextual Ad Networks you can rely on to earn money through your blog. However, there might be possibility that the other ads will contradict with the other. Better to read their policies and guidelines carefully, to prevent cancellation of your accounts on a particular con ads company. Example of which is, you cannot put together Google Adsense and Yahoo Publisher Network. But, you can add the Adbrite together with you Adsense.

How to Make it BIG on EBAY

Honestly, it’s a long shot to be able to make it big on Ebay. When I started on Ebay, I became so frustrated that no one is looking at my site or my products, nor even haggled for the products I cheaply posted for auction. I joined the Ebay forum to get some ideas from my co-Ebayers, so I could reap on my audience to implicitly shout “I’m HERE. I’m EXISTING. I paid tribute to those who responded to my reservations on trying my luck in putting up an online store. One of my affiliates give me advices on how to be RECOGNIZED!

Join the club
Forums have been a great help on every websites or auction site like eBay. It is an application for holding discussions and tête-à-tête which usually focused on a specific subject matter. It’s like chatting on a chat room but with trail.

Be a Top Site Plug-ins
Web based social network is fad in all nations. Sign-up to all available social network sites and befriended with all the visitors. One of the famous sites which basically emphasizing on friendship and getting acquainted with new people is FRIENDSTER. I assume you got an account here and probably gained friends. This has been a trend since 2002. Take this opportunity to post your eBay site or just inform that you’re selling affordable products. Do you know that Friendster is the most visited site in the Philippines and get a hold as 16th most popular site globally? That’s according to Alexa. So, be known to the world now!

Be a Follower
A saying goes, to be a good leader, you must be a good follower. In marketing, you should be a satisfying buyer first to become a rewarding seller. Search for the cheapest product and buy it. Ask for a feedback so that you can build your reputation. Many sellers, as well as buyers, read feedbacks on how you deal with business transactions.

Review your Ads
It doesn’t follow that you must have a flamboyant ads to be recognize. Review your shipping and handling charges. Look for the cheapest courier and offer the same price to your buyers. Review your prices. Search your product on eBay itself and compare your prices with others. If your price is the highest, the possibility to be recognized is close to 0%.

Use your Blog
Blogs will make your product searchable. Promote your products then link them to your ebay account. This is legal. What is prohibited is if you link your eBay to your Blog site and do the outside transaction. I did this once and eBay ended all my listings.

How about MULTIPLY? I love this site! Blog + friendster = multiply. That’s correct, a web host. However, it’s not synonymous with blog like this, where you can earn ‘coz they already made the contextual advertising inserted on the templates. But you can use this for networking purposes. And the much great thing about it, even the distant network will see your listing, posts and photos uploaded.

With all the ways I listed, these will not guarantee your success on eBay but at least, it will increase your chance to make it. Just believe you’ll make it. Just what I did!

Getting Started on Ebay

When I first started on Ebay, I dunno what to expect. First, I dunno my market yet. Although I’m one of those impulsive buyers, I guess I was, I still can’t figure out the market that will recognize my products. What I did, I targeted all sorts of market I could think of. And whoever attacks on the bait, that will be my market. But, it’s not as easy as I thought. I tried to pursue Collectors, Mothers, Fashionable Women, Gadgets Geek and Anime Fans. But, I ended until the end of the day pursuing them and still figuring out who’s my market. LESSON LEARNED: Stop being diversified. Focus. So I stopped my hodge-podge test.

What I did was a BIG NO! Why? It’s like throwing your bait in the Arctic Ocean. Selling or doing business always must possess marketing, which I think I don’t have. I am an accountant and more often, marketers and accountants squabble. But, here’s the important questions Robert Allen emphasized on his book “Multiple Streams of Internet Income

1st Who is your target audience?
Let’s start on deciding who will be our target audience. It might be helpful if you’ll list all the types of the audience and make a drop list for each of what products you could offer. Learn to dissect your market. Be specific.

2nd What do they want?
Put yourself on your audience’s shoes. What do I want? What will bludgeon my ass and hastily grab the product. Remember WANT is different than NEED. Need is always there. You have no choice but to buy them. Is this your target product? Want is what people desired to have. Sometimes this has been misconstrued with need. They thought they need it, but the great desire made it to be wanted.

3rd How can you motivate this target audience to act now?
Marketing comes in. Embed your online site everywhere. Email your friends, your friends’ friends and talk about it. This is the simple concept of networking and you’re on top of that pyramid. I became allergic with the “pyramid thingy” when one of the Networking Business I joined suddenly shut down. That’s correct. I joined believing that this will make me rich. Lucky me that I already gained my capital through recruitment and with lots of discounts on shoes and bags. However, networking is innate on all business. Think of the concept of networking; it may be from the word-of-mouth, hearsay, a gossip but still you’ll expand your opportunity in earning more profits.

How to Earn Money From Home

Below are the ways, which possibly will increase our income. Pinoys are now being hooked with the Internet. Computer shops/cafe are now diminishing, because every home can afford the Plan 999 of the two biggest telecommunication companies in the Philippines. Last April of this year, I was able to subscribe the WIFI thingy. I was so excited, that, unaware that the sites I most would probably visit is Friendster, Yahoo, and Google. I got bored and told to myself, it's not worth it. Plan 999 is much expensive if those only 3 sites will be visited. So, i googled literally, "How to earn money through the internet". Presto! So many ways to earn, not only to compensate your Internet bill, as well as your electric bill and if you get lucky, you can even afford to resign from your job and not worrying. What I have gathered these past few months researching on the revenue-generating ideas, are only overview of the general thought on how can we maximize our time, money and turning 'em to monetized knowledge and creativity.

  • Online store

Buy-and-sell is the customary-Filipino way of doing business. When we're looking for a niche, we always thought of "What to sell in the market?" Selling nowadays evolve and a fruitful result is doing the buying and selling online. One of the famous auction sites in the Philippines is Ebay.ph. Ebay.ph is a little young actually. This was launched in the Philippines last November 16, 2004, which allows the trading online in Philippine Peso and registration is absolutely free. There are other auction sites established prior to that, like Bidshot, but Ebay effortlessly conquered Pinoy entrepreneurs because of the goodwill upholded since 1995. Other e-market place are Auction.ph, sulit.ph, i-Negosyo and etc.

I joined all the auction stores mentioned, selling the same products and I was get hooked on the results of Ebay.ph in terms inquiries, visits, feedbacks and sales of course. Only last April 2007 when I joined Ebay.ph and I dunno If I gonna make it 'coz a couple of months have past, no one is bidding nor inquiring on my products. I initially posted two bottles of Victoria's Secret Splash for PhP850. Ebay.ph is free and viewable by other Ebay site, only limited unless those in other countries preferred searching products worldwide. However, technical problems are expected to be encountared, like you can't relist your items unsold, list new items nor bid on other items. These are always happening on my account on Ebay.ph and I'm used to it.

Doing business online is so much fun. You'll be able to utilize your marketing skills, patience and communication skills. Meeting customers and sellers as well, is enjoyable. You become friends with them and can count on them anytime. Tamad akong magtext dati, but because of my biz, mabilis na ko magreply. This is my customer satisfaction commitment

  • Create your website

This might sound complex, creating a website. Sosyal! May website! If your name is Pedro, your site will probably be your domain name... http://www.pedro.com/. This is really cool. But the amazing thing about creating website, you can actually monetize your site, to the extent of selling them. There are few web hostings available in the Philippines, so you don't have to have a credit card nor a paypal account to subscribe on your host. Hosting.ph is one of the webhosts offerring as low as PhP95 per month. Tall Cappuccino from Starbucks is much expensive than this.

Another option is creating a blog like this one. There are so many blog hosts available. Blogger, which what I am currently using is the first blog introduced to me and I liked it. It's easy and non-excruciating to those non-techie like me.

  • Google Adsense

This is the easiest and simplest way of monetizing your blog or website. Google Adsense is a kind of contextual ads from third-party advertising networks. The Ads that will appear on your site depend on the blog content. This suggests to use keywords that will earn more visitors and more clicks from 'em. One of the commonly use keyword finder test is Wordtracker. A specific word or phrase will be rated according to statistics on its popularity on the Web.

  • Affiliate Programs

I prefer to call it as 'the SALESMAN'. It would be like an annoyance you encountered one afternoon, while having a good rest in your sofa, while watching your fave-telenova. A man on his tie smiled and gave you encouraging information from the encyclopedias he brought. This isn't the concept of Salesmanship now. Everyone can be a salesman and get paid for selling one's products at your own home.

Tha good thing about affiliate programs, your commission comes on various set up; fixed percentage on a sale, pay per sale, pay per referrals or the commissions from second tier. All you need is a website, an interesting write up, preferrably discussing a certain product or service and ads of the merchant's offerring the products or services, which by the way the banners and links are already provided by them. How cool is that.

The most popular affiliate programs are Commission Junction, LinkShare, Clickbank, ShareASale, etc. Commission Junction is the best options for newbies like us. They offer countless affiliate programs all classified by the topic in their easy to use affiliate program directory. One of their affiliates is Ebay.

  • BE A FREELANCER

Freelancing is synonymous to our term "sideline". However, this kind of work is in line with your profession, occupation or to any skills you possess that you're good at, under no long-term contractual commitments. There are two main reasons why employers prefer freelancers to work for them than a permanent employee whose been commited with his job; 1) Freelancers offer cheaper service fees and 2) Freelancers possess greater qualifications and skills compared with regular employees in the Company.

Freelancing jobs on the web mostly offerred are for programmers web designers, web developers and other techie-related jobs. However, other freelancing jobs are obtainable while staying at home; article writing, article submissions, logo/icon illustraions, business consulting. Some of the freelancers offer their services to Getafreelancer, eLance and Scriptlance. Here in the Philippines, FilipinoFreelancers, Bayan Web, Worldwidefreelance and etc.

So, if you've have the guts and the skills, this is enought for you to have a sturdy income working from the comfort of you home.

  • INVEST IN STOCK MARKET

Investing in Stock Market is quite arduous to handle. It's actually a legal gamble, I should say. You have to have your strategy, financial analytics, and will power to make it in stocks investment. I remembered watching The Street, starring Tom Everett Scott and imagined myself trading in stock market and making it BIG! Now, I ended trading in stocks and making it better.

In the Philippines, there are 9 online traders available. It's impossible for private individuals to just go to the PSE trading floor and buy the stocks you wish. Transactions are done in a broker-to-broker deal. These are the online brokers you can count on; AB Capital Securities, BPI Trade, Philstocks.ph, Citiseconline, DFNN, F.Yap Securities, First Metro Securities, PNB Securities and RCBC Securities. For sole investor like me, I'm quite better of with BPI Trade. Initial investment requires only as low as to PhP5,000 and you can trade once they have approved your application. Transfer of funds is easy just enrol your BPI Trade account on you BPI Account.

All about stock investments will be explored on next postings.

The aforementioned ways are only few of the things you could to in your home. These work for me personally.

FOREWORD in the eBIZ

I don't consider myself successful. I believe that SUCCESS is a relative word. Success can be achieved in different ways, forms and time. You may ask, what the hell am I doing here, sharing some tips? Actually, I already made my first step and I wanted you too, will make yours so we'll reach our goals hand in hand.

I am 24 yrs old. I have a day-job as a CPA in a multi-national company. I have an online retail store. I have invested my profits in STOCKS. I have at least ten blogs, which I am starting to update now (coz recently, I discovered many ways to monetize more my blogs). I tried also to be a freelance writer in a particular site, where your write ups will compete with the others. I swept the 5th place out of 37 postings. But my disappointing earnings just reached $0.01. I also have invested in livestock. I'm planning to put more investments, especially on real estate. Unfortunately, I can't find time to study the do's and dont's, the pros and cons of it. You may wonder, am I still find time to sleep? Of course. Leave all your worries to Internet. Let it do all the dirty works.

I am quite overwhemled with whatever niche I am into. Am I rich now? YES, IAM. But not monetarily. I am rich with informations, strategies and now, I am sharing 'em all to you.
