Buy-and-sell is the customary-Filipino way of doing business. When we're looking for a niche, we always thought of "What to sell in the market?" Selling nowadays evolve and a fruitful result is doing the buying and selling online. One of the famous auction sites in the Philippines is Ebay.ph. Ebay.ph is a little young actually. This was launched in the Philippines last November 16, 2004, which allows the trading online in Philippine Peso and registration is absolutely free. There are other auction sites established prior to that, like Bidshot, but Ebay effortlessly conquered Pinoy entrepreneurs because of the goodwill upholded since 1995. Other e-market place are Auction.ph, sulit.ph, i-Negosyo and etc.
I joined all the auction stores mentioned, selling the same products and I was get hooked on the results of Ebay.ph in terms inquiries, visits, feedbacks and sales of course. Only last April 2007 when I joined Ebay.ph and I dunno If I gonna make it 'coz a couple of months have past, no one is bidding nor inquiring on my products. I initially posted two bottles of Victoria's Secret Splash for PhP850. Ebay.ph is free and viewable by other Ebay site, only limited unless those in other countries preferred searching products worldwide. However, technical problems are expected to be encountared, like you can't relist your items unsold, list new items nor bid on other items. These are always happening on my account on Ebay.ph and I'm used to it.
Doing business online is so much fun. You'll be able to utilize your marketing skills, patience and communication skills. Meeting customers and sellers as well, is enjoyable. You become friends with them and can count on them anytime. Tamad akong magtext dati, but because of my biz, mabilis na ko magreply. This is my customer satisfaction commitment
This might sound complex, creating a website. Sosyal! May website! If your name is Pedro, your site will probably be your domain name... http://www.pedro.com/. This is really cool. But the amazing thing about creating website, you can actually monetize your site, to the extent of selling them. There are few web hostings available in the Philippines, so you don't have to have a credit card nor a paypal account to subscribe on your host. Hosting.ph is one of the webhosts offerring as low as PhP95 per month. Tall Cappuccino from Starbucks is much expensive than this.
Another option is creating a blog like this one. There are so many blog hosts available. Blogger, which what I am currently using is the first blog introduced to me and I liked it. It's easy and non-excruciating to those non-techie like me.
This is the easiest and simplest way of monetizing your blog or website. Google Adsense is a kind of contextual ads from third-party advertising networks. The Ads that will appear on your site depend on the blog content. This suggests to use keywords that will earn more visitors and more clicks from 'em. One of the commonly use keyword finder test is Wordtracker. A specific word or phrase will be rated according to statistics on its popularity on the Web.
I prefer to call it as 'the SALESMAN'. It would be like an annoyance you encountered one afternoon, while having a good rest in your sofa, while watching your fave-telenova. A man on his tie smiled and gave you encouraging information from the encyclopedias he brought. This isn't the concept of Salesmanship now. Everyone can be a salesman and get paid for selling one's products at your own home.
Tha good thing about affiliate programs, your commission comes on various set up; fixed percentage on a sale, pay per sale, pay per referrals or the commissions from second tier. All you need is a website, an interesting write up, preferrably discussing a certain product or service and ads of the merchant's offerring the products or services, which by the way the banners and links are already provided by them. How cool is that.
The most popular affiliate programs are Commission Junction, LinkShare, Clickbank, ShareASale, etc. Commission Junction is the best options for newbies like us. They offer countless affiliate programs all classified by the topic in their easy to use affiliate program directory. One of their affiliates is Ebay.
Freelancing is synonymous to our term "sideline". However, this kind of work is in line with your profession, occupation or to any skills you possess that you're good at, under no long-term contractual commitments. There are two main reasons why employers prefer freelancers to work for them than a permanent employee whose been commited with his job; 1) Freelancers offer cheaper service fees and 2) Freelancers possess greater qualifications and skills compared with regular employees in the Company.
Freelancing jobs on the web mostly offerred are for programmers web designers, web developers and other techie-related jobs. However, other freelancing jobs are obtainable while staying at home; article writing, article submissions, logo/icon illustraions, business consulting. Some of the freelancers offer their services to Getafreelancer, eLance and Scriptlance. Here in the Philippines, FilipinoFreelancers, Bayan Web, Worldwidefreelance and etc.
So, if you've have the guts and the skills, this is enought for you to have a sturdy income working from the comfort of you home.
Investing in Stock Market is quite arduous to handle. It's actually a legal gamble, I should say. You have to have your strategy, financial analytics, and will power to make it in stocks investment. I remembered watching The Street, starring Tom Everett Scott and imagined myself trading in stock market and making it BIG! Now, I ended trading in stocks and making it better.
In the Philippines, there are 9 online traders available. It's impossible for private individuals to just go to the PSE trading floor and buy the stocks you wish. Transactions are done in a broker-to-broker deal. These are the online brokers you can count on; AB Capital Securities, BPI Trade, Philstocks.ph, Citiseconline, DFNN, F.Yap Securities, First Metro Securities, PNB Securities and RCBC Securities. For sole investor like me, I'm quite better of with BPI Trade. Initial investment requires only as low as to PhP5,000 and you can trade once they have approved your application. Transfer of funds is easy just enrol your BPI Trade account on you BPI Account.
All about stock investments will be explored on next postings.
The aforementioned ways are only few of the things you could to in your home. These work for me personally.
