Getting Started on Ebay

When I first started on Ebay, I dunno what to expect. First, I dunno my market yet. Although I’m one of those impulsive buyers, I guess I was, I still can’t figure out the market that will recognize my products. What I did, I targeted all sorts of market I could think of. And whoever attacks on the bait, that will be my market. But, it’s not as easy as I thought. I tried to pursue Collectors, Mothers, Fashionable Women, Gadgets Geek and Anime Fans. But, I ended until the end of the day pursuing them and still figuring out who’s my market. LESSON LEARNED: Stop being diversified. Focus. So I stopped my hodge-podge test.

What I did was a BIG NO! Why? It’s like throwing your bait in the Arctic Ocean. Selling or doing business always must possess marketing, which I think I don’t have. I am an accountant and more often, marketers and accountants squabble. But, here’s the important questions Robert Allen emphasized on his book “Multiple Streams of Internet Income

1st Who is your target audience?
Let’s start on deciding who will be our target audience. It might be helpful if you’ll list all the types of the audience and make a drop list for each of what products you could offer. Learn to dissect your market. Be specific.

2nd What do they want?
Put yourself on your audience’s shoes. What do I want? What will bludgeon my ass and hastily grab the product. Remember WANT is different than NEED. Need is always there. You have no choice but to buy them. Is this your target product? Want is what people desired to have. Sometimes this has been misconstrued with need. They thought they need it, but the great desire made it to be wanted.

3rd How can you motivate this target audience to act now?
Marketing comes in. Embed your online site everywhere. Email your friends, your friends’ friends and talk about it. This is the simple concept of networking and you’re on top of that pyramid. I became allergic with the “pyramid thingy” when one of the Networking Business I joined suddenly shut down. That’s correct. I joined believing that this will make me rich. Lucky me that I already gained my capital through recruitment and with lots of discounts on shoes and bags. However, networking is innate on all business. Think of the concept of networking; it may be from the word-of-mouth, hearsay, a gossip but still you’ll expand your opportunity in earning more profits.
